Pipeline Dreams: High School

Pipeline Dreams: High School is 12-week hybrid program engineered to empower high school juniors and seniors exploring potential careers in medicine and research with motivation and knowledge.

The curriculum exposes students to health equity, research, and over 15 potential medical and health allied careers while working together with college undergraduate peer-mentors.

Students convene weekly online on Zoom and attend three punctuating in-person touch points to enhance to online experience.

  • Online students learn about the path to medical and healthcare careers meeting a Black and brown guest speaker from a different medical or clinical specialty each week.

  • Online in small groups students learn public health concepts, connect with pre-med undergraduate facilitators, and create a research proposal investigating a racial health disparity of their choice

  • Students connect in-person to attend a medical education conference, a Hands-on Healthcare Experience, and present their group research proposals at the Student Research Expo.

  • Applicant Eligibility Requirements

    Must be currently enrolled in 10th or 11th grade.

    Must be available online from 6-8pm EST Tuesdays January -April, 2025.

    Must demonstrate an interest in learning more about pursing a career in medicine or any health allied fields.

  • Register online for one of Programs Info-Sessions

    Local students are encouraged to attend in-person at PRW Headquarters at 100 S Queen St. Lancaster, PA 17603

    Remote students are encouraged to log on via Zoom with meeting credentials shared at registration and below.

  • Collect high school transcript and take some time to prepare responses to application questions by January 6, 2025.

  • By 11:59pm January 13, 2025 all student acceptances will be disseminated and students can expect to receive their PDHS Welcome Box with program material in the mail within the next week.

    Students will complete a student intake form to answer questions about their academic profile, interests, and goals for PRW ‘s team of mentors to best support them within the 12 week program.
